Psychedelic guitar, swaying rhythms, poetic saxophone flights — these four young musicians take you on a ride through the Leo Geller 4tet's 'Open Jazz Chaloupé.'
Built around the leader's guitar and compositions, the band features Fanny Bouteiller on double bass, Malo Thiery on drums, and Jérémie Lucchese on tenor saxophone.
The band's ambition: to share music that is deeply researched yet accessible and poetic, aiming for something radiant and uplifting.
Winners of the JazzContreBand competition and the Audience Award at Festival Jazz à Oloron, the band has already performed at Jazz à Vienne, the Sunset-Sunside, and the Cosmo Jazz Festival, among others.

Leo Geller is a guitarist and composer based in Lyon.
In love with the music of John Coltrane, he decided to devote his life to jazz and improvised music around the age of 19.
He trained at the conservatories of Chalon-sur-Saône, Villeurbanne and Lyon, and studied with Gaël Horellou and Romain Pilon.
Inspired by musicians such as Kurt Rosenwinkel and Bill Frisell, he works toward finding his own honest, personal voice and sound.
Originally from the south of France, Fanny Bouteiller first picked up electric bass at 16, in high school.
She earned a DEM (advanced diploma) in contemporary music at the Nîmes conservatory, then moved to Lyon to widen her network — training there with Jérôme Regard at the conservatory and with Isel Rasua in Cuban music at the Villeurbanne ENM, while being called into a range of highly eclectic projects.
She continues to shape her double bass sound today, studying classical double bass with Jérôme Bertrand at the Saint-Étienne conservatory.
Malo Thiery is a drummer based in Lyon. He started classical percussion at a young age at the Belfort conservatory, building experience in numerous bands before turning to jazz.
His colorful style and wide range of influences pushed him to grow increasingly creative in his projects, and it was by joining the jazz program at the Lyon conservatory in 2019 that he began getting involved in the region's artistic life.
Jérémie Lucchese is a tenor saxophonist from southwestern France. He moved to Paris in 2020 to join the jazz and improvised music program at the CNSM (Paris Conservatory).
He graduated in 2023, and after three years of musical exploration in the capital, decided to bring together musicians he admired to play his own music, releasing the EP Essai pour l'imaginaire.
To describe Jérémie Lucchese's saxophone playing, the great Chris Cheek put it this way: a sustained, modern tenor sound, full, with deep and genuine sensitivity — and remarkable ease across the instrument's entire range.
